No es novedad que una de las cosas que más me apasiona es el arte en todas sus expresiones.. Y andar en bicicleta es como esos primeros amores que uno tiene en la niñez, para muchos nuestro primer vehículo (salvo que contemos el buggie, gran regalo que uno recibe a eso de los tres años). Bueno ahora imagínense esta receta: pasión por las bicis + creatividad + diseñadores + colores = ARTCRANK. Conocí ARTCRANK hace un tiempo atrás a través de Instagram y los seguía como sigo miles de cuentas de arte que me gustan. La semana pasada medio que por casualidad me enteré a través de su feed que iban a estar con una muestra de afiches en Washington DC (mi nueva ciudad). Emoción de por medio! no podía dejar de ir…
ARTCRANK es un concepto de evento donde se muestra el trabajo de 30 o más artistas que crean o diseñan pósters originales sobre bicicletas y que es lo que significa el cycling en sus vidas. Estos eventos que se organizan en EEUU y Europa tienen la finalidad a través de la creatividad de cambiar la manera que la gente piensa sobre las bicicletas y su objetivo es hacer crecer la comunidad bicicletera. Que la bici sea una opción más a la hora de transportarse en las grandes ciudades. Todos los pósters son hechos a mano, usando técnicas de impresión como serigrafía y se venden en el evento para quien quiera llevarse su favorito a su casa. 
Me encanta la misión de ARTCRANK y que se siga haciendo lugar a medios de transporte más buenos no sólo para el medio ambiente sino para la salud. Washington DC es una ciudad muy bici-friendly, con estaciones de bicicletas en gran parte de la ciudad y ciclovías en las calles. Es mi nuevo gran medio de transporte y estoy feliz 😉

BETWEEN CYCLING AND ART: It ‘s not news that one of the things I love the most is art in all its forms. Last week while I was looking through their feed I found by chance that they were having an event in Washington DC (my new hometown). Excitement apart, obviously I knew I have to go..
Let me talk you about ARTCRANK. It is an event concept where they put together the work of 30 or more artists who create and design original posters about bikes and cycling and what it means in their own lives. These events are organized in the US and Europe and through creativity they want to change the way people think about bicycles and cycling. Their mission as it is express on their website

All posters are hand made using printing techniques such as screen printing and typography and are sold at the event for those who want to take their favorite at home. I love the work of ARTCRANK because we need more people trying to place cycling as an amazing transportation choice. It is not only good for the environment but also for the health. Cycling is a win win solution and an amazing style of life I recommend. Washington DC is a very bike-friendly city, with bike stations in much of the city area and bike lanes that make more easy moving around the city.
