The industrialization has led us to a very organized world. As part of our own evolution as a species, our societies with our education systems have helped us in this matter. We have developed vast fields of knowledge as science, technology, economics, politics, psychology, sociology, theology, and philosophy to understand the world around us. But today we are facing “new problems”. Product of our own evolution, we are facing a new era where boundaries between some fields are fuzzy. As a result of our hyperconnectivity, innovation and the develop of new technologies, things that 20 years ago we would never imagine we can mix together, now we are.
New terms as “behavioral economics” which mixes psychology and economics, to make better predictions based on human behavior or “psycho-technologies” that is a field in psychology that brings a practical application about the human mind.
Kenneth Mikkelsen & Richard Martin in their book “The Neo-Generalist” talk about the necessity of a future with workers with boundaries-crossing capabilities and cross-pollination of ideas.
A need for people specialists in some areas, but also with the capacity of been generalists. A mix in between, which the authors call “the neo-generalist”. This new mindset will help us to explore and explore the world differently. Connecting ideas, dots and bringing new perspectives, new solutions.
